Abstract

Describe el fenómeno de las remesas internacionales que no es nuevo en Guatemala, pero sí lo es su acelerado crecimiento y la magnitud que ha alcanzado en los últimos años. Existen indicios de que las remesas, cuya importancia era más bien marginal, se ha convertido en fuente significativa de divisas para la economía nacional y de ingresos para un número cada vez más amplio de familias.
