Guatemala : evolución económica durante 2010 y perspectivas para 2011

Abstract

En 2010 se observó un desempeño positivo de la mayoría de los indicadores macroeconómicos fundamentales de Guatemala (véase el gráfico 1). En efecto, el crecimiento del PIB real fue de 2,8%, superior al 0,5% registrado en 2009, impulsado por el aumento de las exportaciones —vinculado a la recuperación de la economía de los Estados Unidos— y por cierto dinamismo de la demanda interna, en el marco de un leve incremento de las remesas y de la inversión extranjera directa (IED). La inflación anual fue de 5,4% y el déficit fiscal se ubicó en 3,3% del PIB, apenas por encima del 3,1%, cifra registrada en 2009. El déficit comercial alcanzó 10,8% del PIB y el de la cuenta corriente de la balanza de pagos, 2% del PIB (0% en 2009).
