Evaluación de daños y pérdidas en El Salvador ocasionados por la tormenta tropical Ágatha

Abstract

A petición del gobierno de El Salvador, por conducto de la Secretaría de la Presidencia, se llevó a cabo una evaluación conjunta de daños y pérdidas entre el 14 y el 28 de junio de 2010 por el impacto de la tormenta tropical Agatha, en la que participaron funcionarios del gobierno salvadoreño y expertos de la CEPAL. La evaluación se llevó a cabo mediante la puesta en práctica de la metodología de evaluación de daños y pérdidas desarrollada por la CEPAL y busca aportar al gobierno elementos básicos para la estrategia y plan de rehabilitación y reconstrucción. Con el liderazgo del gobierno y en contacto directo con la Comisión de Rehabilitación y Reconstrucción de El Salvador (STP), así como con el aporte de los demás ministerios e instituciones pertinentes, se evaluó sector por sector. Asimismo, se llevó a cabo un taller de capacitación y coordinación convocado por la STP, se sostuvieron diálogos con ministros de los distintos ramos y se realizó una visita de campo con apoyo del Ministerio de Obras Públicas y la Dirección de Protección Civil. En este informe se presentan los resultados sobre la base de la información disponible hasta la fecha de cierre del mismo.
