Abstract

Este documento contiene las principales estadísticas de la industria eléctrica de los países del Istmo Centroamericano, actualizadas al año 2008. Se presenta en siete secciones, correspondiendo la primera a los resúmenes de la evolución reciente de la industria eléctrica de la región. La información ha sido proporcionada por las instituciones oficiales de los seis países centroamericanos, principalmente por los entes responsables de la regulación de la industria eléctrica, las empresas públicas de electricidad, las Direcciones especializadas de los Ministerios de Energía y las instancias encargadas de la gestión de los mercados mayoristas de electricidad. Las cifras referentes al comercio intrarregional de energía eléctrica corresponden a las reportadas por el Ente Operador Regional (EOR), organismo especializado del Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana (SICA).
