Nicaragua: evolución económica durante 2010

Abstract

En 2010 se espera un crecimiento del producto interno bruto (PIB) real de Nicaragua ligeramente superior al 3%, con lo que retoma su senda de expansión que se había interrumpido en 2009 cuando se contrajo 1,5% por efecto de la crisis financiera internacional. La recuperación económica se apoya en el fuerte dinamismo de las exportaciones (25%), que superó ampliamente el modesto repunte del consumo interno (2,4%), en particular del consumo privado (2,1%). Asociado al mayor ritmo de actividad, se espera un alza de las importaciones de 26% —sobre todo de bienes de consumo y de capital— que, no obstante el aumento de las exportaciones, llevará el déficit en cuenta corriente a un monto equivalente al 16,5% del PIB en 2010. La inflación anual se situará alrededor del 7% —muy por encima del 0,9% registrado un año atrás— debido al impacto de la reactivación económica, así como al alza de los precios del petróleo y de los granos básicos, que ha venido afectando a la subregión.
