Estrategia energética sustentable centroamericana 2020

Abstract

La Estrategia Energética Sustentable Centroamericana 2020 es el resultado del análisis de escenarios del sector energético de los países del SICA para el año 2020, que fue elaborado por la Oficina Subregional de la CEPAL en México, con base al cual se preparó en forma conjunta por la CEPAL, la Secretaría General del SICA y los Directores de Energía y de Hidrocarburos de los países de la región. La estrategia tiene como objetivo fundamental, asegurar el abastecimiento energético de Centroamérica, en calidad, cantidad y diversidad de fuentes, necesario para garantizar el desarrollo sostenible, teniendo en cuenta la equidad social, crecimiento económico, la gobernabilidad y compatibilidad con el ambiente, de acuerdo con los compromisos ambientales. La Estrategia establece en cinco grandes componentes que son: Acceso a la energía por parte de la población con menos recursos, uso racional y eficiencia energética, fuentes renovables de energía, biocombustibles para transporte y cambio climático.
