Empresas transnacionales y la inversión extranjera directa en la primera mitad de los años ochenta

Abstract

Analiza las principales tendencias de la inversión extranjera directa, tratando de identificar sus efectos diferenciados para los distintos países de América Latina y los sectores económicos; los cambios recientes en las políticas frente a la inversión extranjera directa y las empresas transnacionales tomando como base las situaciones heteorégenas de los principales países receptores (Argentina, Brasil y México) y de los países del área andina (incluyendo Chile); examina el papel de la banca transnacional en el endeudamiento y la crisis financiera de la región; y contribuye al reconocimiento de algunos aspectos importantes de la participación de las empresas transnacionales en el desarrollo de las economías latinoamericanas.
