Población joven y desarrollo urbano: el caso de la Florida, Santiago de Chile

Abstract

Teniendo como referente empírico los datos de la encuesta CASEN, el estudio se orienta a conocer las condiciones de vida de los jóvenes de la comuna de La Florida, caracterizada por un acelerado crecimiento urbano y una creciente presencia de jóvenes. Previo la presentación del marco conceptual, el análisis se centra en: a) la evolución demográfica, económica y social de la trama urbana y las características poblacionales de La Florida; b) la composición económica-social y las características del entorno físico de la comuna; el índice de condiciones de vida juveniles que considera como indicadores las condiciones habitacionales, las características socio-económicas del jefe del hogar y las características socio-económicas del joven.
