Costa Rica: proyeccion de jefes de hogar por sexo, edad y estado conyugal, 1985-2025

Abstract

La proyeccion de los jefes de hogar de Costa Rica tiene por objeto estimar las necesidades de vivienda en el periodo 1985-2025. El analisis de las tasas de jefatura por sexo y edad durante el periodo 1950-1984, calculadas a partir de datos censales, lleva a concluir que existe cierta estabilidad en su comportamiento. Se decido efectuar la proyeccion manteniendo constantes las tasas de jefatura por sexo, estado civil y edad de 1984. La poblacion se obtuvo de las proyecciones del CELADE, variante media. Los resultados revelan la necesidad de incrementar las viviendas en un promedio de 24.500 anuales en el quinquenio 1985-1990 y 25.500 anuales en el decenio 1990-2000. En comparacion con el stock existente al censo de 1984, el incremento seria de 13.9 por ciento en 1985, un 38.4 por ciento en 1990 y 89.2 por ciento en el ano 2000 (p13).
