SIEF (Seminarios de Investigacion y Entrenamiento en Fecundidad): un resumen sobre un experimento de CELADE

Abstract

Entre 1972 y 1975, el sector fecundidad de CELADE llevo a cabo 4 Seminarios de Investigacion y Entrenamiento en Fecundidad (SIEF), basados en el analisis de los resultados del PECFAL-Rural. La importancia del programa radica en que proporciona una solucion parcial a dos problemas importantes: la subutilizacion de las encuestas y de otros datos y la entrega de un entrenamiento en tecnicas avanzadas de investigacion a investigadores de nivel intermedio. Los seminarios comprometieron a un total de 14 investigadores asociados y a becarios de segundo y tercer ano del CELADE, quienes produjeron 34 trabajos sobre diversos aspectos de la fecundidad y la anticoncepcion en zonas rurales de America Latina. En terminos de su contenido, dos seminarios fueron de caracter socio- demografico y centraron el analisis en las relaciones entre los factores socioeconomicos y del sistema social con las variables intermedias de la fecundidad; los otros dos, de caracter demografico- formal, privilegiaron la influencia de las variables intermedias en la fecundidad.
