Abstract

Previa la discusion de las variantes teoricas alternativas, la exposicion se centra en la presentacion de las herramientas conceptuales para abordar el analisis de la estructura de clases. La estrategia adoptada parte del examen de los procesos sociales basicos de cada modo de produccion. Posteriormente, se desarrollan las implicancias de esta estrategia, bajo la forma de un inventario ordenado de enunciados que definen los conceptos generales, partiendo del concepto clave de relaciones de produccion y de las formas que asume (relaciones entre agentes y relaciones entre agentes y medios de produccion). La resena descriptiva de los modos de produccion se centra en el modo capitalista, el feudal y la produccion mercantil simple. Luego, se intenta proporcionar los elementos que posibilitan la "aplicacion" de los conceptos discutidos al estudio de las sociedades concretas. Finalmente, se explicitan los criterios para la distribucion de los agentes en clases, fracciones y capas en la sociedad chilena en 1970.
