Antecedentes demograficos y acciones en poblacion, Guatemala

Abstract

Mediante informacion proveniente de diversas fuentes, se muestran datos de Guatemala, centrados principalmente en el periodo 1960- 1973, relativos a su: composicion por sexo, edad, grupo etnico y estado civil; crecimiento poblacional; fecundidad; mortalidad y migracion. Posteriormente, al comentar las politicas de poblacion, se senala la posicion del Gobierno y las politicas formuladas al respecto, utilizando para ello los Planes de Desarrollo de los periodos 1971-1975 y 1975-1979 y los discursos pronunciados en distintas reuniones sobre poblacion. Finalmente, se enumera la asistencia tecnica y financiera de organismos internacionales, como Population Council, UNFPA y CEPAL.
