Una idea para estimar la población emigrante por sexo y edad en el censo de un país

Abstract

El metodo que se propone para estimar la poblacion emigrante se apoya en informacion sobre hijos sobrevivientes, que residen fuera del pais, que podria recogerse en un censo interrogando a la poblacion femenina. Se complementaria esa informacion con otra referente a la residencia de la madre que se investigaria en toda la poblacion. Son investigadas, asi, cuatro categorias de emigrantes segun que tengan su madre viva o muerta, presente o ausente del pais. La primera categoria, madre sobreviviente y presente, es la unica que se calcula mediante informacion directamente recogida en el censo acerca de la sobrevivencia de los hijos. Debe constituir la mas importante de todas. Las otras categorias se estiman a partir de diferentes informaciones y estimaciones anteriores.
