Abstract

El curso persiguio los siguientes objetivos: entregar una formacion basica para investigar e interpretar variables demograficas en el contexto del desarrollo economico y social; optimizar la utilizacion de recursos humanos destinados a la produccion y uso de la informacion demografica; mejorar la preparacion de profesionales que ensenan demografia y asignaturas relacionadas. El rendimiento fue positivo. Para aprovechar la capacitacion adquirida se propone la constitucion de una unidad de analisis demografico en la Direccion de Estadistica y Censo del Uruguay y la institucionalizacion de la ensenanza e investigacion demografica en el area de competencia del Instituto de Estadistica de la Universidad de la Republica
