Abstract

Las documentales comprenden las Matriculas de Encomiendas que entregan datos para reconstituir la poblacion encomendada y sus cteristicas; las Visitas de Indios que permiten conocer datos mas globales de dicha poblacion; los Padrones de Milicianos, que se refieren al contingente en estado de cargar armas; las Matriculas de Confesion, que comprenden los feligreses de las parroquias; los Archivos Parroquiales, de indudable significacion demografica, registran los bautismos, matrimonios y defunciones; los Censos o Padrones Generales, de los cuales se individualizan seis. Se indican como fuentes impresas obras historicas de caracter general (se individualizan 4), obras referentes a la poblacion y las estructuras laborales (2), estudios sobre censos y archivos parroquiales (5), y obras relativas a historia de la medicina (2).
