Presenta una discusión conceptual sobre qué debe entenderse por aspectos humanitarios, su relación con el desarrollo y su conexión con la familia; describe las condiciones de vida de la población mayor en algunos países de la región; y se refiere a la familia a nivel conceptual y de descripción empírica.
