Metodos de construccion de tablas abreviadas

Abstract

La construccion de tablas abreviadas de mortalidad se describe de acuerdo a los principales metodos desarrollados para ello. Los metodos clasicos, que son los mejores, son aquellos que emplean informacion basica proveniente del censo de poblacion y de las estadisticas vitales; el punto de partida son las tasas centrales de mortalidad. Se han desarrollado numerosos metodos rapidos para construir tablas abreviadas, tres de las cuales se describen: el de Greville, el de Reed y Merrell, y la construccion con referencia a una tabla tipo. Se presenta el desarrollo completo de la construccion de una tabla de vida abreviada. En los casos en que las estadisticas son incompletas o de mala calidad, se pueden aplicar diversos metodos indirectos para la construccion de tablas de mortalidad. Se expone el metodo de las relaciones de supervivencia intercensales y se hace tambien referencia a la elaboracion de tablas a partir de preguntas especiales incluidas en censos o encuestas.
