Fecundabilidad y edad de la mujer en las áreas rurales y semi-urbanas de cuatro países latinoamericanos

Abstract

Para medir la fecundabilidad con los datos de la encuesta PECFAL- Rural, se utiliza el Modelo Geometrico Tipo I, basado en toda la distribucion del tiempo de espera entre la iniciacion de la union y la primera concepcion. Las mejores estimaciones de la fecundabilidad media obtenidas fueron 0.151, 0.166, 0.168 y 0.191 para Peru, Colombia, Mexico y Costa Rica respectivamente (p9). Estos resultados tuvieron 2 controles mediante variables asociadas, la edad al casarse y la duracion del matrimonio, observandose que dentro de cada categoria de edad al casarse la fecundabilidad decrece con el aumento de la duracion del matrimonio y aumenta directamente con la edad al casarse. Esta ultima permitio comprobar que el ajuste hecho era satisfactorio en los 4 paises y verificar que los datos eran consistentes
