Medidas de fecundidad y aborto: definicion de las medidas

Abstract

Las medidas analizadas en el presente trabajo son las que se utilizan de preferencia en encuestas por lo que no incluye todas las medidas posibles de fecundidad, aborto y embarazo. La primera parte del documento esta destinada a definir las 20 medidas de uso mas frecuente y a describir los procedimientos para su calculo. La segunda parte incluye una discusion detallada de la aplicacion de algunas de dichas medidas agrupadas en: a).medidas que resumen el pasado de las mujeres encuestadas, a saber, el numero medio de embarazos por mujer, el numero medio de abortos por mujer, el numero medio de muertes fetales por mujer y el numro medio de hijos por mujer; b).medidas para estudiar la tendencia reciente, entre las que se incluyen las tasas de embarazo por mujer, las tasas de aborto por embarazo, las tasas de abortos por mujer y las tasas de fecundidad.
