Abstract

El presente número, al igual que el que apareció hace treinta años, está dedicado a las estimaciones y proyecciones de población por sexo y edades de los veinte países de América Latina, pero esta vez desde el año 1970 hasta el 2050. De 1970 a 1995 se consideran estimaciones del período histórico, en la mayoría de los casos resultante de la evaluación de los datos reales de censos, registros de estadísticas vitales y encuestas especializadas. El inicio en 1970 también constituye un cambio respecto a los Boletines anteriores, en que se comenzaba la presentación de la información desde 1950. A partir de 1995 se inicia el período de proyección, mediante la formulación de hipótesis futuras de cambio de la fecundidad, la mortalidad y las migraciones internacionales.
