Abstract

En este informe se analiza la experiencia digital de niñas, niños y adolescentes en la Argentina, Bolivia (Estado Plurinacional de), el Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica y el Uruguay, a partir de estudios comparables de la iniciativa Kids Online en América Latina. Se observa una expansión sostenida del acceso a Internet en el hogar —superior al 90% en la mayoría de los países—, aunque persisten brechas relevantes según el nivel socioeconómico, especialmente en el acceso a computadoras para el estudio. El teléfono móvil es el principal dispositivo de conexión y se adquiere cada vez a edades más tempranas, y las prácticas digitales de niñas, niños y adolescentes se centran en el entretenimiento audiovisual, la comunicación y el aprendizaje informal, destacándose plataformas como WhatsApp, YouTube y TikTok. El estudio permite profundizar en la comprensión sobre las formas de uso de las herramientas digitales y las oportunidades y los riesgos que enfrentan niños, niñas y adolescentes al utilizarlas, así como sobre las brechas que existen en este ámbito. Esta información constituye un insumo clave para el diseño de políticas públicas orientadas a promover una inclusión digital más equitativa, segura y basada en el bienestar.
