Abstract

En el presente documento sobre el Índice Latinoamericano de Inteligencia Artificial (ILIA), 2025 se ofrecen datos cuantitativos y cualitativos sobre el estado de avance de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en 19 países de América Latina y el Caribe. Constituye una herramienta fundamental para identificar logros, brechas y oportunidades de mejora en los ecosistemas de IA de los países de la región y una referencia esencial para enfrentar los principales desafíos de América Latina y el Caribe en materia de IA y transformación digital. Impulsado por el Centro Nacional de Inteligencia Artificial (CENIA) de Chile y la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), y con el apoyo de otras entidades públicas y privadas, el índice facilita la elaboración de hojas de ruta orientadas al desarrollo tecnológico regional. El índice, que se estructura en torno a tres dimensiones (factores habilitantes; investigación, desarrollo y adopción, y gobernanza) y permite categorizar a los países de la región en tres grupos según la madurez de sus ecosistemas: pioneros, adoptantes y exploradores, ofrece una perspectiva integral del progreso tecnológico. Este análisis permite a los encargados de tomar decisiones formular estrategias que aceleren el desarrollo de la IA, promoviendo un crecimiento virtuoso y competitivo en los países de la región.
