Primer informe sobre endeudamientos, géneros y cuidados en la Argentina: equipo de trabajo de la CEPAL y el Ministerio de Economía de la Argentina

Abstract

En este informe se aborda una de las dimensiones más importantes de la desigualdad de género: la feminización de los endeudamientos de los hogares. Se presentan los resultados de la encuesta de financiamientos y medios de pago realizada para este informe sobre las fuentes (formales e informales) de financiamiento a las que recurren los hogares y su utilización. También se incluyen datos sobre la morosidad y otras variables que permiten conocer el grado de vulnerabilidad financiera de los distintos tipos de hogares. Se observa que los hogares encabezados por mujeres con niños, niñas y adolescentes a cargo son los que presentan mayores necesidades de financiamiento y destinan la mayor parte de este a la compra de comida o medicamentos y al pago de deudas. Si bien la desigualdad económica de género es un fenómeno estructural y complejo, la gestión monetaria de los cuidados y las estrategias de financiamiento a las que las mujeres recurren para compensar esa desigualdad se traducen con frecuencia en espirales de endeudamiento y situaciones de alta vulnerabilidad financiera.
