Decenio Internacional para los Afrodescendientes: breve examen en el marco de la pandemia de COVID-19 en América Latina y el Caribe

Abstract

Las poblaciones afrodescendientes sufren altos niveles de desigualdad y privación que, como muestran las cifras presentadas en este informe, se han exacerbado durante la pandemia de COVID-19. En esta publicación se busca recoger el sentir de las personas afrodescendientes y registrar algunos de sus aportes y estrategias para hacer frente a la crisis sociosanitaria y económica. En este contexto, las Naciones Unidas consideran prioritaria la integración de un enfoque de derechos humanos en todas las respuestas a la pandemia y presentan recomendaciones para luchar contra la discriminación racial estructural y promover una reconstrucción con igualdad.
