Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la forma en que el valor producido en la sociedad, a partir del trabajo, intelectual y manual, y los recursos naturales, se genera (producto interno bruto), asigna (ingreso nacional), distribuye (ingreso disponible), utiliza (gasto y ahorro) y acumula (riqueza). En lugar de medir la desigualdad subjetiva del bienestar (felicidad) por medio del consumo, se analiza cómo se distribuye el valor creado por el trabajo y los recursos naturales; es decir, el propósito es estudiar la desigualdad en la repartición del valor generado en la economía. Si bien se considera importante el tema de las capacidades y la libertad, en este estudio se tiene presente el marco más amplio que brinda la exigencia de cumplir con los derechos humanos.
