Abstract

En este documento se analiza la desigualdad social desde distintas perspectivas y se discute en qué consiste la desigualdad de condiciones, oportunidades, resultados y capacidades. Se reconoce el carácter multidimensional de la desigualdad y su dimensión relacional. En términos de medición, el análisis se centra en la distribución del ingreso, en tanto es una dimensión que recorre todos los tipos de desigualdad. Su principal objetivo es proponer un método para ajustar los ingresos informados en las encuestas a los de las cuentas nacionales y analizar las brechas de desigualdad en la distribución del ingreso en Costa Rica, El Salvador y Guatemala.
