Cuentas subnacionales en América Latina y el Caribe: Diagnóstico y propuestas de estandarización según tipo de actividad económica

Abstract

Este estudio tiene por objeto describir la situación de América Latina y el Caribe respecto de la medición de las cuentas subnacionales, conocer los aspectos metodológicos en los cuales se basan sus estimaciones y, a partir de ellos, proponer un formato armónico para su publicación y uso directo por parte de los usuarios. Las cuentas subnacionales son un instrumento de análisis de la situación en cada país que permite reflejar las disparidades entre el desarrollo económico y social de los distintos niveles subnacionales. Se elaboran de la misma forma que una cuenta a nivel nacional y buscan mostrar, a una escala más desagregada, la importancia de las actividades, su aporte al país y su interrelación con los demás niveles subnacionales. Mediante el análisis de la información disponible es posible avanzar en la elaboración de un repositorio de información que permita a los usuarios hacer análisis a nivel geográfico-administrativo.
