Diagnóstico de las brechas estructurales en Guatemala: una aproximación sistémica general

Abstract

En este estudio se ofrece una descripción sistémica general de las principales brechas estructurales horizontales y verticales existentes en Guatemala, con especial atención a las brechas espaciales y territoriales. Representa un aporte metodológico al análisis de la desigualdad con una perspectiva más amplia e integral. En el marco del diagnóstico de brechas horizontales, se observa que los indicadores de desarrollo socioeconómico del país presentan un rezago relativo con respecto al promedio, tanto del resto de los países de América Latina y el Caribe como de los países en desarrollo y desarrollados de la muestra de comparación y del país mejor ubicado del mundo, lo que refleja la necesidad de realizar mayores esfuerzos para cerrar esas brechas.
