Efectos socioeconómicos de la construcción de viviendas en la reactivación pos-COVID-19: inversión y empleo sectorial en Chile, Colombia, el Ecuador, México, el Perú y la República Dominicana

Abstract

En este estudio se cuantifica el déficit de vivienda en Chile, Colombia, el Ecuador, México, el Perú y la República Dominicana, empleando una metodología única para permitir un análisis comparado. Se usaron como fuentes de información encuestas de hogares y de empleo de la última década, con el fin de proyectar escenarios de requerimientos de vivienda a 2030. Para establecer el efecto del sector de la construcción en el empleo, se utilizaron matrices de insumo-producto. Los efectos que la inversión en el sector de la construcción tiene en el crecimiento económico y en la generación de empleo deben considerarse al momento de implementar políticas de provisión de vivienda en el marco de la crisis derivada de la pandemia de COVID-19.
