Evaluación de la cadena de suministro de vacunas contra el COVID-19 en Centroamérica: realidades, retos y posibles soluciones

Abstract

El acceso a las vacunas a nivel regional ha sido uno de los mayores retos a los que debió enfrentarse Centroamérica en el contexto de la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19). En el presente trabajo, los autores se plantean el objetivo de analizar la situación general de la pandemia en la región y evaluar los retos y las buenas prácticas de la cadena de suministro de vacunas, así como los impactos sobre las tasas de vacunación en Centroamérica. En conclusión, se observa un claro patrón de falta de suministro de vacunas y una ausencia de planificación resiliente para responder de forma ágil al aumento de las infecciones, lo que señala la importancia de la asimilación de buenas prácticas y la necesidad de implementar planes de suministro alternativos.
