Abstract

En este documento se evalúa la definición oficial y la metodología usual de medición de los espacios y poblaciones rurales en Costa Rica a partir de estadísticas nacionales. También se propone una nueva definición de ruralidad y se aplican metodologías alternativas para su medición dinámica y no dicotómica, con implicaciones para las políticas públicas.
