Desarrollo económico local y presupuestos participativos: la experiencia de Chile

Abstract

Este estudio busca aportar al conocimiento de la relación entre economía y política a través de la utilización de una base de datos de 6.589 proyectos financiados a través de presupuestos participativos en 47 municipalidades de Chile entre 2001 y 2017. Mediante un análisis de regresión multivariada se cuantifica la importancia del componente económico (desarrollo económico local) en las experiencias de los presupuestos participativos en Chile y se busca estudiar los determinantes de esta incorporación, interpretando lo anterior como un tipo de relación entre economía y política en que el mecanismo de presupuestos participativos representa lo político, y los proyectos de desarrollo económico local, lo económico.
