Cambio tecnológico y el mercado laboral: aportes para la identificación de las ocupaciones emergentes en Colombia

Abstract

En el presente documento se propone una diferenciación de las ocupaciones emergentes en Colombia en dos sentidos: ocupaciones emergentes en sentido lato y ocupaciones emergentes en sentido estricto. Las primeras son aquellas que ya tienen un código ocupacional en la clasificación nacional y que presentan un número creciente de trabajadores, en tanto que las segundas son aquellas para las cuales aún no existe un código ocupacional. Se discute cómo las fuentes de datos que ya están disponibles en Colombia pueden ser usadas para identificar estas ocupaciones, y cómo esta información puede ser complementada con la que proviene de otras fuentes alternativas. Adicionalmente, se realiza una revisión de la forma en que se actualizan los códigos ocupacionales en países desarrollados con el objetivo de elaborar propuestas para que el Estado colombiano pueda utilizar las fuentes de información disponibles para actualizar sus clasificaciones de ocupaciones y captar las características de las ocupaciones emergentes en el país.
