Valor agregado inducido por el comercio entre Centroamérica, México y la República Dominicana

Abstract

Centroamérica es la subregión de América Latina y el Caribe más integrada comercialmente: las exportaciones intrarregionales representan aproximadamente el 30% de sus exportaciones totales y la subregión constituye su principal destino de exportación después de los Estados Unidos. Pese a este elevado nivel de integración en lo que respecta a las exportaciones brutas, la matriz de insumo-producto subregional muestra que el comercio de bienes y servicios, en términos de valor agregado, es menor. Asimismo, se observan patrones de inserción comercial diferenciados entre los países. De este análisis se concluye, en primer lugar, que los niveles de valor agregado intrarregional incorporados en las exportaciones intrarregionales son en general bajos y, en segundo lugar, que existen distintos perfiles de participación comercial y generación de valor mediante exportaciones e importaciones.
