Caracterización de los espacios rurales en Costa Rica y propuestas de alternativas metodológicas para su medición

Abstract

En este documento se presentan opciones para medir y caracterizar de manera dinámica a la heterogénea ruralidad actual en Costa Rica, a partir de estadísticas nacionales e información georreferenciada, mediante tres posibles índices y una gradación rural-urbana, superando contraposiciones dicotómicas. Las propuestas están sustentadas en un enfoque territorial, con una visión integral y sistémica, y abordan las escalas regionales, de los territorios rurales y local/municipal.
