Abstract

Esta contribución se organiza de la siguiente manera. Primero, se aborda el contexto legal y político de la Unión Europea, el cual es importante para comprender el tema de la medición de la pobreza y la exclusión social. En segundo lugar, se muestra la manera en que la pobreza se concibe y mide en la Unión Europea. En tercer lugar, se presenta la información utilizada para esta medición. Finalmente, se concluye con un breve análisis relativo al uso de estos indicadores en el proceso de diseño de políticas.
