Protección social y migración: Una mirada desde las vulnerabilidades a lo largo del ciclo de la migración y de la vida de las personas

Abstract

En este documento se analizan los desafíos fundamentales de la migración internacional en la región, en especial para alcanzar sistemas de protección social universales que abarquen a todos los grupos de población, incluidas las personas migrantes. Para ello, se propone una mirada centrada en los riesgos, vulnerabilidades y necesidades más apremiantes de las personas migrantes en las distintas etapas del ciclo de la migración: en el país de origen, durante el tránsito hacia el lugar de destino, en el país de acogida y, eventualmente, en el retorno (voluntario o forzoso) al país de origen.
