Inclusión financiera de pequeños productores rurales: estudio de caso en El Salvador

Abstract

La inclusión financiera se ha convertido en la agenda de acuerdos públicos y privados para lograr a través de un mayor acceso a los diferentes tipos de cuentas financieros, como un medio para mejorar el bienestar de las personas. Para que logre un mayor impacto, la inclusión financiera debe ser una agenda enmarcada dentro una política pública de desarrollo inclusivo. En El Salvador, el empleo formal es muy bajo, ya que lo dispone sólo una de cada cuatro personas de la población económicamente activa, un 35% dispone de seguridad social (15,6% en el área rural), y la tasa de pobreza nacional alcanzó 31,8% y rural 37,9% en 2014. Esta realidad, de muy bajos ingresos implica que potencialmente se encuentran excluidos financieramente, por ello la creación de oportunidades de empleo debe ser una meta, la cual es apoyada a través de la inclusión financiera.
