SOS Telemedicina: la experiencia de la Universidad Central de Venezuela

Abstract

Este documento forma parte de una serie de publicaciones destinadas a difundir requerimientos y experiencias de aplicación de tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones (TIC) en el ámbito sanitario. Su objetivo es proporcionar información de utilidad a los tomadores de decisiones y contribuir al diseño de políticas y estrategias en salud electrónica (salud-e) destinadas a reducir las brechas de acceso y de calidad que afectan a las poblaciones más vulnerables, así como mejorar la efectividad y la eficiencia de los sistemas de salud. Las publicaciones que forman parte de esta serie han sido elaboradas con la participación de colaboradores, consultores y funcionarios del componente de salud del programa 'LIS2 ejecutado en la División de Desarrollo Social de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL). El marco institucional en que se inserta el componente de TIC y salud de dicho programa tiene tres referentes: el programa 'LIS -Alianza para la Sociedad de la Información- de cooperación entre la Unión Europea y América Latina con sus proyectos 'LIS1 y 'LIS2; el Plan de Acción Regional sobre la Sociedad de la Información en América Latina y el Caribe -eLAC- y los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio.
