Propuesta para un sistema de información del Seguro de Desempleo de México

Abstract

En 2014, la Cámara de diputados de México aprobó la creación de un Seguro de Desempleo, quedando pendiente de aprobarse en el Senado la reforma constitucional que define que el seguro de desempleo será parte de la Ley del Seguro Social (LSS). En este estudio se busca identificar las principales características de un sistema de seguimiento de esta nueva institución, que permita monitorear su comportamiento, evaluar su funcionamiento e impacto, y que proporcione información periódica a sus beneficiarios, ejecutores, académicos y especialistas. Su creación, como ha ocurrido con otras experiencias en países de la región, permitirá generar una valiosa fuente de información periódica sobre el funcionamiento del mercado de trabajo y de sus diversos componentes, constituyéndose así en un referente privilegiado para el análisis en la materia.
