Un acercamiento a la medición del teletrabajo: evidencia de algunos países de América Latina

Abstract

El teletrabajo, a pesar de ser una temática emergente y que está en gestación, es una realidad que ha llegado hasta los mercados laborales de los países de la región y que forma cada vez más parte de las tendencias laborales de la población. Reconociendo la carencia y/o las particularidades de las estadísticas oficiales en teletrabajo, este estudio busca hacer un primer acercamiento a las estadísticas en esta materia en la región a partir de la información disponible, sea ésta oficial o no oficial, con la que cuentan los países hasta la fecha. Teniendo en cuenta que el teletrabajo es un fenómeno relativamente nuevo en los mercados laborales de América Latina y el Caribe, y que éste se ha desarrollado de diferentes maneras y con diferente intensidad en cada país, el objetivo de la consultoría se amplió para obtener información no solamente cuantitativa sino también cualitativa sobre los fenómenos del mercado laboral que involucran las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación - TIC.
