América Latina a 25 años de la aprobación de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño

Abstract

A 25 años de la firma de la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño, corresponde efectuar un recuento de los logros alcanzados en la consecución de los derechos de la infancia y la adolescencia, así como de los desafíos que habrán de enfrentar los gobiernos latinoamericanos y caribeños durante los próximos años para garantizar el pleno desarrollo de la infancia y la adolescencia. Con ese motivo, la CEPAL y la Oficina Regional para América Latina y el Caribe de la UNICEF han llevado a cabo el presente estudio a fin de reconocer las políticas públicas que han permitido avanzar en el cumplimiento de los derechos a la vida y al desarrollo, a un nivel de vida digno, a la salud y la seguridad social, a la alimentación y la vivienda, a la educación, a la protección y a la identidad.
