China en transición a la sociedad del conocimiento: implicaciones para América Latina

Abstract

China se ha propuesto estrechar distancias con las potencias tradicionales en el ámbito industrial, tecnológico y científico, para alcanzar mayores estándares de desarrollo a comienzos del siglo XXI. Frente a las preguntas sobre ¿qué políticas en educación, investigación y desarrollo está adoptando China para alcanzar esta meta? y ¿cuáles son las implicaciones para América Latina?, el objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la transición de China a la Sociedad del Conocimiento, su posicionamiento en el triángulo innovación, educación y calificación a nivel mundial y la propuesta que generó para Latinoamérica en materia educativa, por medio del Libro Blanco el 2008. Detrás de la emergencia económica de China, hay una filosofía política y estratégica que deriva en distintos ámbitos relevantes para América Latina, como la educación. La transición de China hacia la sociedad del conocimiento, constituye un paso fundamental en el camino hacia mayores niveles de desarrollo económico y social.
