Juventud y cohesión social en Iberoamérica: un modelo para armar

Abstract

El estudio analiza los vínculos entre los jóvenes y la cohesión social, entendida tanto como las estructuras e instituciones que facilitan la inclusión social (educación, empleo, protección social), así como el sentido de pertenencia a la comunidad. Se estructura en cinco partes: pobreza y riesgos; desarrollo de capacidades; generación de oportunidades; juventud, familia y sentido de pertenencia; y la institucionalidad y las políticas de juventud. Incluye capítulos sobre mortalidad, maternidad adolescente, educación, conectividad, empleo y violencia juvenil, entre otros. Dentro de las conclusiones se menciona que el desempleo juvenil latinoamericano ha disminuido en la última década y la juventud lidera la comprensión y uso de las nuevas tecnologías. Que los jóvenes desconfían de las instituciones políticas, se sienten discriminados por ser pobres y la educación no les ha servido como palanca para la movilidad social.
