Abstract

Este documento es una versión actualizada del Capítulo 3 del libro de Guisán, Cancelo, Aguayo y Díaz(2001). El interés de este estudio está en analizar la importancia de la industria sobre la renta y el empleo de las regiones europeas, no sólo por su efecto positivo directo sino también por sus efectos positivos indirectos sobre otros sectores productivos y en especial sobre los sectores de construcción y servicios. Además de los datos del período 1985-1995 de la versión inicial del libro, incluimos en esta actualización datos más actualizados: En el Anexo presentamos datos comparativos del desarrollo industrial y económico de las regiones de la Unión Europea en el año 2000, y también la evolución de la producción industrial de España en el período 1975-2010.
