Werteffekte bei Einführung der EU-Verordnung über Leerverkäufe und Credit Default Swaps

Abstract

Durch die Leerverkaufsverordnung (EU) Nr. 236/2012 wurde eine gesamteuropäische Verordnung zum Verbot von Leerverkäufen umgesetzt. Zudem wurde mit der Verordnung ein Verbot von ungedeckten CDS-Positionen mit europäischen Staaten als Referenzschuldner in der EU eingeführt. Die Studie untersucht für 119 Finanzunternehmen Werteffekte und Risikomaße wäh- rend des legislativen Prozesses. Es wird analysiert, ob durch die europaweite Einführung des Gesetzes die Compliance-Kosten für Finanzunternehmen gesenkt werden konnten und ob durch die Verbotseinführung von ungedeckten Credit Default Swap- Geschäften ein negativer Werteffekt verursacht wurde.
