The present text seeks to inform about the current situation of productive enterprises organized on the general principles of self - management in Brazil. Data were collected on various aspects of self-management, such as the concept of selfmanagement in Brazil, number of enterprises, technical problems such as technological lag, internal relations in self-management ventures, networking, problems arising from lack of a specific legislation for these enterprises, the technical capacity of these enterprises to produce and commercialize in an efficient way, and, in the end, a critical assessment of self-management in Brazil. The main methodology used was the bibliographic review.
