Abstract

Quelle est l’importance de confiance pour le bien-être subjectif ? La confiance dans les institutions et à l’égard de son entourage sont des composantes du capital social, qui est important pour l’individu et la société. Cependant, la confiance est dans certains cas tellement corrélée au bien-être qu’il peut sembler difficile de comprendre réellement la relation entre ces deux dimensions. Confiance et satisfaction dans la vie vont-ils toujours de pair ? Quels renseignements additionnels nous apportent les mesures de confiance ? Cette note, qui s’appuie sur l’enquête INSEE sur les ressources et conditions de vie de 2013, montre que satisfaction et confiance sont généralement positivement corrélées, mais qu’il peut également y avoir des divergences entre les deux mesures dans certains cas. En examinant ces divergences, nous pouvons mieux comprendre notre société.
