Génesis del desplazamiento forzoso en Colombia: sus orígenes, sus consecuencias y el problema del retorno

Abstract

El desplazamiento forzado en Colombia ha cobrado importancia con la agudización del conflicto armado. Hoy entre 1’288.174 y 3’090.123 colombianos han sido expulsados de su municipio con actos violentos. El objetivo de este artículo es examinar el proceso del desplazamiento desde su inicio hasta su culminación en el proceso de estabilización socioeconómica. El artículo analiza las causas del desplazamiento en Colombia, evalúa sus consecuencias para la población desplazada y explora los determinantes del retorno. Los resultados muestran cómo el desplazamiento está estrechamente ligado a la dinámica del conflicto armado colombiano, evidencian la caída abrupta en el bienestar como consecuencia del desplazamiento, e identifican los obstáculos para llevar a cabo programas de retorno exitosos y sostenibles.
