Reflexiones sobre la selección, el rol y la evaluación de desempeno del profesor universitario

Abstract

El texto propone incluir aspectos relacionados con la calidad de los procesos de ensenanza y aprendizaje como indicadores fundamentales de la auto-evaluación y la evaluación de desempeno de los profesores universitarios. Se presenta primero una breve evolución histórica del rol del profesor y como ésta se ha desdibujado frente a los ranqueos y el deseo de las universidades por crear indicadores de diferenciación que les permitan sobresalir ante la masificación de la educación superior y el aumento inusitado de instituciones privadas. Estas últimas procuran atender, con poca calidad y capacidad de gestión, el incremento de solicitudes de ingreso que resultan de la ampliación de la cobertura de la educación media y secundaria.
